For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat,
I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink,
I was a stranger and you invited me in,
I needed clothes and you clothed me,
I was sick and you looked after me,
I was in prison and you came to vist me.

(Matthew 25:35, 36 NIV)

URGENT INFORMATION (February 26, 2009) Having just received a miraculous shipment yesterday, we now have plenty of dry cereal, crackers, cookies and kraft dinner.

What we now need are the essentials missing from that list: soup, canned vegetables and fruits, peanut butter, and of course any "main course" items.

Be aware that we DO have refrigerators at our location - we welcome donations of fresh dairy products, lunch meats and other perishables.

Welcome to the Table Soup Kitchen website!

The Table Soup Kitchen Foundation is a non-profit, Christian, non-denominational organization committed to lovingly serving the people of the Huntsville area. We are also a Registered Charity under the Income Tax Act.

We serve two free supper meals per week to the people in the Huntsville community. Our Monday meal is served from 5:00 - 6:30 pm at 99 West Road, a Community Living site. On Thursdays our meal is served at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church from 5:00 to 6:30 pm.

Our guests include people struggling with low incomes as well as people who need some companionship. We welcome anyone from our community to join us.

The Table Soup Kitchen Foundation believes we are a benefit to the community as we offer free food and companionship regularly to people who are in need. Leftovers are sent home at every meal as well. Our volunteers are a fabulous group of people from all walks of life who are given the opportunity to serve together and have an outlet to show their love and companionship for people. The Table is supported both materially and financially by members of our community. A number of businesses, restaurants and individuals help meet our need by providing various parts of some of our meals. This is an ongoing need as we grow our service to the community.

The Table Soup Kitchen Foundation opened The Table Food Bank in the Anderson Produce location on December 12, 2008. We are grateful to Laura and Barry Anderson for their generosity in loaning us this location until they resume their business operations in May of 2009. Our goal is to be able to support ourselves in a building through generous committed donations by community members and possible grants. We envision expanding our weekly meals, keeping The Table Food Bank open and hopefully opening a Men's Shelter in the future.
